Project Description
Following Hurricane Melissa, several communities across Jamaica were left without reliable access to clean and safe drinking water. Many of these areas are remote and difficult to reach, making restoration through traditional infrastructure both slow and resource-intensive. With affected populations placed on priority lists that could delay relief, there was an urgent need for a solution that could deliver immediate impact while supporting long-term resilience.
Our Solution
Isratech, in partnership with Clean Water, introduced AquaBlock technology as a rapid-response solution to provide clean drinking water to underserved and hard-to-reach communities. AquaBlock enables the delivery of high-quality water in areas where traditional infrastructure is unavailable or compromised.
A key component of the initiative was the decision to retain the AquaBlock units within Jamaica, allowing Isratech to independently deploy them in response to future disasters. This builds national capacity and reduces reliance on external intervention during critical moments.
Beyond the technology itself, the initiative emphasized the importance of collaboration. By working alongside government and other private sector entities, the partnership demonstrated how unified efforts can accelerate recovery and lay the foundation for stronger, more resilient systems. The project not only addressed immediate water access needs but also reinforced the importance of preparedness, adaptability, and collective action in the face of evolving environmental challenges.
